To clean a tape drive in NetBackup, you can run the tpclean command.
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpclean -C
So for example, /usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpclean -C IBM.002
In order for tpclean to work as expected, you must have cleaning tapes defined in NetBackup.
