How do I transfer images from my iPod or iPhone to my Mac?

Having lots of images and videos stored on your device takes up a lot of storage. Here are a few quick and easy ways to move them to your Mac.

1. Open /Applications/Image Capture.
2. Towards the bottom of the screen it says Import To:. You can keep the default of Pictures or change it accordingly. When you’re done you can choose Import All to import all of your photos and movies or just choose the ones that you want to move to your Mac. There’s also an option to Delete after import that will delete them from your device when the import is complete. Choose the appropriate options and start the import.

Another option is to use iPhoto (Applications –> iPhoto.

When iPhoto is opened you have a few options, like with Image Capture. You can Split Events to name groups of pictures accordingly. You can also select images to import or just Import X Pictures.

Choose whichever option you’d like and let the import run.

I prefer using Image Capture as it’s pretty quick and easy, but if you want to keep your pictures in iPhoto you can use iPhoto.
