How do I force a crash dump on a hung HP-UX server?

If your HP-UX server is completely unresponsive, you can force a crash dump by performing the following steps.

1. Login to the console and press CTRL-B
2. Press Enter twice
3. Type TC
4. Type Y

You will see your crash dump appear in /var/adm/crash or whereever the the SAVECORE_DIR directory is set to in /etc/rc.config.d/savecore.

Hrmm that was weird, my comment got eaten. Anyway I wanted to say that it’s nice to know that someone else also mentioned this as I had trouble finding the same info elsewhere. This was the first place that told me the answer. Thanks.
