How do I resolve the GPG error “There is no assurance this key belongs to the named user”?

In GnuPG, if you get an error stating “There is no assurance this key belongs to the named user” when trying to encrypt something, you need to sign the public key.

You can sign the key by typing

gpg –sign-key user-id

This is definitely a blog that people need to get behind. The problem is, no one wants to do a great deal of reading and not have something else to stimulate the mind. This is the internet, after all. Maybe if you added a video or two to emphasise your point.

Extremely useful and informative article. I wish i can do all of that in a short period of time. But for sure doing those will produce results. I will try to spread your words through my blog and link it back to you. Thanks a lot for those tips
