How do I restart network services on my Ubuntu server or desktop?

Restarting the network service on Ubuntu is similar to Red Hat or CentOS. To do so from the command line, you can run the following command:

service network-manager restart

Ex. root@localhost:~# service network-manager restart
network-manager stop/waiting
network-manager start/running, process 6064
